It's Wet N Wild's first gel formula that can be worn without a top coat or that has to be cured by a lamp.
What it does:
It has up to 2 weeks of lasting power & shine. No UV light is required to get these results. The nail color is 3-Free, meaning there is no formaldehyde, Toluene or Phthalates. It also removes like a normal polish, unlike traditional gel nails.
Back in August of 2012 my husband & late father-in-law made me a custom nail polish rack. My nail polish collection was slowly growing & I was running out of space. It was all jumbled in drawers & I never knew what I had because they were all hidden. I considered buying one or two of those plastic racks they sell online, but I knew I needed more space than one of those would hold & I wanted something for a specific space in my (at the time) makeup room.
I measured the space, came up with the dimensions & took my husband to the hardware store. They were the ones who brought my ideas to life! It was perfect at the time & still is now! It's moved location a couple of times, but I'll always hold onto it! Not only does it mean a lot to me but it's so useful and beautiful!
Over the past weekend, I went and got my nails done. It used to be something I did very routinely but it's not a habit I've kept up over the years because I do enjoy doing my own & I usually prefer shorter nails and it can become costly. but I've been enjoying them...
I looked over all the nail polishes when I went to the salon & nothing impressed me, so I asked if I could do pink glitter acrylic all over the entire nail. I love the way the color turned out, everyone knows I love pink! The only polish on them is a top coat. I went with a square shape, only because I've had issues before when I ask for a very particular shape (stiletto, coffin, etc.) at other salons, and I usually get very uneven nails that I have to fix once I'm home. I didn't want to worry about the possibility of all of that this time.
Since St. Patrick's Day landed on Thursday & that's normally the day I share my 'Nails of the Week' series, I thought I'd share some green nails I've previously done as well as the nails I did this week.
This past week, I exclusively used 2 of my new polishes from the Sinful Colors Sinful Shine King Kylie Collection. I loved "Minty Fresh" but "Kreme De La Kreme" wins the prize!
Minty Fresh is your typical mint color & I think it's the perfect Spring or Summer shade. It looks pretty on its own & would be cute under nail art as well. It reminds me of Easter time!
Kreme De La Kreme is a beautiful, metallic, almost rose gold color. It's been my favorite polish from this collection I've worn so far... I love it so much that I opted not to do my daily/every other day polish change. I think it's a color that would compliment any skin tone as well!
This past week was extremely busy for me... I feel like most weeks are actually (lol) but I had a lot of appointments and meetings that used up most of my "free" time, so I only changed my nails about every other day. My favorite polish pick of the week was O.P.I. "Ro-Man-ce on the Moon." It's a beautiful red that I'm glad to have in my collection, I previously posted that I hauled it at T.J. Maxx for only $3, when O.P.I. usually retails $8+ depending on where you purchase it. I also used 2 polishes I picked up from the Sinful Colors: King Kylie Collection available only at Wal-Mart. ($2.98/each)
This week I was extremely busy but luckily my nail polish held up well. I started off the week with Sinful Colors "Pink Forever" & after a day I added Sinful Colors "Pinky Glitter" on top of that to get the beautiful glitter effect that I loved so much.
Quick Tip: If you're ever in a hurry or trying to prolong your polish, a coat or two of glitter will usually do the trick!
After I went shopping this weekend & picked up some new polishes, I decided to try Sinful Colors "Lavender" out. It's a beautiful color, but doesn't exactly remind me of the color lavender.... but maybe that's just me? It's more of a blue-toned purple shade.

Valentine's Day played a big role when it came to my nails for the first two colors. I wanted something sweet & pink, but not too bright.... After V-Day, I went for something a little darker... My mood changed drastically when it was time for my next polish change, I used "Courtney Orange." It was much brighter than what I'd been doing lately, but it was a fun change & felt right... Where's winter? I ended the week with "Nirvana." It's a beautiful greige & I love it! It's actually a matte polish, but I prefer a shiny topcoat with this color & it helps my polish to last a little better. I use Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat. I've used Seche Vite & Out the Door in the past, but Sally Hansen is available everywhere & it's really affordable & works just as well. I love switching up my nail color, so I don't really feel like I need to spend a lot on my polishes. I get most of them for less than $5. I also don't spend too much on them because regardless of the brand, they can chip quickly. A lot of times I need to change them as often as I do. Sometimes I can stretch them for about 3-days, but I like to go for everyday to every other day... As much as I type, do housework, take care of the kids, etc., they just don't hold up for a long time. Nothing is more annoying than spending a good amount of time & money getting your nails done, only for them to chip that same week... I'm not here for that!
A couple of years ago my site generated a lot of traffic because of my 'Nails of the Week' posts... Every week I'd post pictures of my nails (I use to do them daily/every other day... before my baby boy, who's almost 2 came along) & everyone seemed to be really interested. I still love doing my nails & I try to do them often but it doesn't always work out like that, but I plan on getting back into the swing of things, as far as actually posting pictures (because I forget to do that), before baby #3 comes & I have absolutely NO time for my nails for awhile... lol! In honor of 'Throwback Thursday' enjoy!
