We're a week into 2017 & I finally have my goals & resolutions figured out... When it comes to a new year & setting some goals or having resolutions, I've been on both sides... There have been years where I'm dead-set on change & other years where I'm like, "I'm me, whether you like it or not!" This year I'm ready for some change... I am so focused & determined on doing and being my best this year when it comes to my blog. I've put so much thought & effort into it already, yet I know there's room for growth & improvement. I've set some big goals that'll remain personal, but I'm excited to share my journey. At the end of the year, I'm hoping for a checked-off list... In order for that to happen though, I need to de-clutter my mind and the space around me, be the best mother and wife I can be, make plans and stick with them & take better care of my body, mind & soul. A lot of times I think mommies and wives spend so much time taking care of everyone else & trying to make them happy that they neglect themselves, their hobbies & interests in the process. My family will always come first, but I need to make positive changes that'll benefit my happiness, too! This year, trinityallyn.com, will be a top priority!
2016 was such an amazing year for me. The good definitely outweighed the bad... My oldest son, Ezekiel, did so well in school, Zachariah, my middle (wild) child learned so much, we went on so many fun little trips, my baby boy, Hezekiah, was born in July & we were all blessed with great memories & good health! This was a wonderful year for our family, although I've heard so many say that 2016 was a horrible year. Bad things happen every year, but this year we chose to focus on the positives versus the negatives that we had our fair share of too...
I want to thank everyone who supported me this year, online & offline. I have so many goals, regarding my blog & online activity, I'll be sharing some of them with you all soon!
Thank you again - I hope 2017 brings us all happiness, health & success!
I love Christmas time, it's so magical! I love looking at all the lights, making (and eating) holiday desserts, putting up the Christmas tree, decorating & the festive spirit that almost everyone is in... This year we decorated before Thanksgiving, bought a bigger tree & enjoyed the holidays so much leading up to Jesus' birthday... On Christmas day, unfortunately our family lost a very important woman in all of our lives, but we did our best to remain thankful & faithful on what is supposed to be such a joyous occasion.
Every Christmas morning, one of our traditions is having my parents, grandma, sisters & brother over to our house to open gifts from each other & see what Santa left. Every year, opening presents lasts a little longer, because there are more kids & because everyone (not including my boys) is grown up and can afford to buy gifts now, but it's something I love & look forward to! It's so exciting to watch my kids open their presents. I love seeing their eyes light up when they see what they got, but I've got to say, I lucked out this year and got quite a few amazing gifts, too! My family knows me so well & their thoughtful & generous gifts didn't disappoint ... and I might have helped the boys pick a couple things out for mom! ;)
Fans had been waiting for a M·A·C Cosmetics collaboration with Selena for a long, long time... Petitions, people reaching out and campaigning via social media, etc. and finally in 2016, 21 years since Selena's passing (1995) it finally came to life in October (2016) online & in stores. It sold out within a day!
The fact that she's been gone for over two decades & she still has such a following and fan base speaks volumes. Her legacy will never die & continues to live on for so many people, young and old! Although there were some people unhappy with the collection, that were expecting more or something different, it didn't stop the items from selling out almost immediately... And the launch of the collection drew very large crowds. The demand for her M·A·C Cosmetics collection was so immense that they have decided to bring it back for a second time! Time to spend that Christmas money ;)
A couple of months ago I reviewed the Kashmere Kollections Luxurious Toning Oil (read here) and basically told you all about how much I loved it & couldn't get enough of it! I loved the way it smelled, the ingredients, the claims... and today, 3 months later, I still love it & use it!
One of the major reasons I fell in love with this oil was because it smells so good! The scent in itself is so calming, It has a very light, sweet scent. I can't really describe it, it just smells...good! And it actually works because of all the great ingredients in the oil. Kim mentioned on social media that her oil would work effectively on a handful of different skin issues, such as eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles, aging, scars, stretch marks, etc.
Christmas is quickly approaching... The countdown officially started Thursday (Dec. 1) so it's time to finish checking off your lists & make sure you hit the stores before every thing is sold out or checkout online before all of the shipping deadlines!
Most people buy a person a gift based on their interests or hobbies, but some gifts don't allow you to put as much thought into them, such as 'Secret Santa' or 'White Elephant' or your maybe your brother's new girlfriend that you're all meeting for the first time this Christmas... but whatever the case may be there are a ton of good beauty related options that'll be the perfect gift to give any female on your list!
Can you believe it's already December 1st? The holiday's are definitely the most wonderful time of the year, but it also happens to be the busiest (and stressful); Halloween, Thanksgiving, school programs, work parties, family get together's, shopping & everyday life... Time doesn't stop for anyone, so we've been non-stop, plus we've all been sick off & on, which is no fun! I haven't worn a stitch of makeup in a month, but I have been getting some pretty packages in the mail I'll be sharing with all of you very soon!!!!
In the next week, I'll be sharing my gift guide with you as well as a couple other posts this month & I'll be going somewhat slow-paced until the beginning of the new year. I apologize for my hiatus, but I know you all understand! :) Thank you to everyone who has been visiting my blog, new & old!
Recently one of my sisters snapped me a picture of herself in this black face mask & asked me if I'd ever tried it! I automatically assumed it was something she found at the store, so I asked her what brand it was, etc. She told me she made it herself & it consisted of charcoal and glue! Who doesn't love a good face mask? This method seemed to be cheap & effective so I was all the way in! You can find Activated Charcoal where vitamins & supplements are found in stores (although they're always sold out in my area) in the form of a capsule. I haven't found the powder form in stores yet, but of course everything is available online! For the same jar I used, containing 1.2 ounce, it can be purchased on Amazon for less than $10.
WHAT IT DOES
Activated Charcoal can be used for a number of things in your beauty routine, as well as a household item, such as teeth whitening, facial masks, gas issues, or to deter small insects & spiders, etc. It's relatively affordable & a little goes a LONG way...
The reason behind using Activated Charcoal for face masks is because it unclogs pores, helping rid them of dirt, oil & other impurities. This is a great mask to minimize pores or to combat acne. You only use a small amount of powder each time, but it adsorbs (you read that right) a thousand times it's own mass getting rid of all the bad stuff...
