This product is fairly new & launched in January 2016. It was first only available at NARS but can now also be found where ever you could already find NARS cosmetics. (Sephora, Nordstrom, ASOS, etc.) It's marketed as a "skin tint" which makes you think of a BB Cream or tinted moisturizer, but it actually has really great, long-lasting coverage. It dries quickly on the skin & gives you a soft velvet-matte finish. When it's completely dry it feels almost like a cream to powder finish & feels very comfortable on the skin. Depending on your skin type, whether you're oily or dry, I feel like this would be a great product for anyone. It looks great on my skin & I always get compliments when I wear it. It can be worn by itself & applied with your fingers or it also applies nicely with a brush or makeup sponge. I've tried all 3 methods and all work fine but I prefer to apply it with a damp beauty blender. The nice thing about this skin tint is it can also be built up. With one layer it gives me a medium coverage but in certain areas I can apply a little more to get a more full coverage. I always say it looks like an "instagram filter" when I look at myself in the mirror because it blurs my lines & imperfections!
I bought the shade "Cuzco" which is a new shade & I really like how it matches my skin. When first applied it's a tad light but after about 30 minutes, it blends right into my skin. I would keep that in mind when looking at this product. Don't buy a shade that'll be too dark for you because it will oxidize a little bit. There are only 12 shades in this particular line but depending on the success of the product, I'm sure NARS will introduce a few more shades. This skin tint also has Broad Spectrum SPF 30, so it's actually protecting your skin while you wear it, which I think is a great thing. SPF should be worn all year long, but I think a lot of us sometimes forget that, so when there's an amazing product with it built in, we don't have to worry about it as much. NARS also claims it can give you all-day wear & I agree. After about 6 hours, I'll need to blot but that's pretty typical with any foundation. It also doesn't spread or separate & gives me a flawless finish as long as I keep it on. I would like to note I do get minor flash-back when I take pictures with flash & that's due to the SPF in it. This product photographs beautifully in natural lighting but I wouldn't recommend wearing this product to a night club or outdoor event in the evening if there's going to be pictures taken, so keep that in mind.
Do I think this product is worth it? YES, without a doubt. I love this product & it feels much more like a foundation to me. It gives me build-able coverage while feeling very light on the skin. It blends nicely regardless of what tools you use & the rest of my makeup always applies nicely on top of it. The added SPF can be a pro or con to some, but personally I don't mind it. It's protecting my skin & I get to look pretty so it's not too big of a deal to me. I will say I'd also love this formula without SPF though too for nighttime wear. It costs a pretty penny but it's worth it to me. I also love that this product has 1.7 fl oz in it... The norm is usually 1 fl oz when it comes to foundation, so you're getting a great value. If you haven't tried this product yet, go get a sample or buy it & try it out for a couple of days. Luckily, even with makeup, if we buy it we can return it as long as we follow the guidelines. That's why I ALWAYS keep my receipts (for everything!) because you never know if a product will agree with you or not, but if it doesn't no big deal, return or exchange it for something else.
I'd also like to point out in the picture above of my makeup, that's after a full day's wear. My lipstick has worn off, my eyeshadow was starting to crease, but overall my skin still looked good and felt comfortable. Besides applying my moisturizer & a primer beforehand I only set my face with a setting spray & it stays put. I do pay special attention to my under-eye area though & set it with a translucent setting powder, but this product is amazing. In person, your skin looks flawless!
